How sweet It Is To Surrender

How sweet it is to surrender,
To lay down and submit a soul,
To believe and accept a stranger__
When it’s even hard to look into one’s soul;  Save the kisses and wipe your tears.
Retain the songs and comfort your fears.

Of All The Things

Of all the things,
For me:
The curious apple bite of Adam,                        A shave of lock that took away Samson's mighty strength,                                          Moses’ rod that smote the rock of Horeb,    The cock that crowed at Peter's denial,        The flowery doctrine of a seer,

The river that has run dried,
The evening bird that sings no more,
The yellow leaves after the spring's gone,
The white solitary moon in cold December,
The age in my father's eyes,                            The smile of a broken-hearted,                      The face of a crying child,

The scrolls that have never been read,
The untold story of a lost tribe,
The truth that the human race no longer strife,
The sound of the dying music,
The thoughts of days gone by,
The dwarfed winter rose,
The unseen tears of the childless,
The fairy dream of an aged man,
The unexplained fancy of youth,
The dreamless nights she slept,
The love, I loved,
The day we parted and
The innocent misfortune of mine own.
They are__
They oft steal away my needful days;
They are but what, what I cannot undo.
